The League of California Cities (
http://www.cacities.org/index.jsp) is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities.
Check out the many ways the League Advocates, Educates, and Serves California Cities:
Legislative Advocacy: An informed and active membership is the key to effective legislative advocacy. The League maintains a number of resources that help city officials advocate on legislation and regulations that affect the quality of life in California cities.
Legal Advocacy: The League engages in advocacy on behalf of cities before the courts, because laws affecting cities are made in the courts as well as in the Legislature.
Policy Development - The League's policy-making process allows the issues facing California cities to be debated and the organization's policy directions to be established.
Regional Divisions - Regional Divisions function as the League's on-the-ground grassroots advocacy teams. They are a great way for city officials to get involved in grassroots activities that support the quality of life in their community.
Education - Educational programs are an integral part of the League's work to protect local control for cities in order to enhance the quality of life for all Californians.
Member Resources - The League offers a variety of resources and tools through our 16 regional divisions, 11 professional departments, and library.
