Community members offer PUSD a civics lesson: who do public schools belong to; Intro - Part 8

Organized and ready to challenge and demonstrate to the Pasadena Unified School District's (PUSD) Consolidation Committee and administration, troops of community members made up of parents, teachers and neighbors poured into the Wilson Middle School auditorium Friday evening, October 8th. They had studied and were prepared to take part in a civics lesson that questioned who public schools belong to.

Many of the Consolidation Committee members were in attendance, in the front row of the auditorium, seriously engaging their assignment to collect information in the effort to execute their charge to “explore options for school consolidation and closure to narrow the budget deficit.”

The following video is the raw recording of the event. It does not include the last 45 minutes of the meeting due to technical limitations.

Superintendent Diaz to the Board is expected to make his recommendation to the Board at its meeting on November 9, 2010. "
